The dates for Phase 4 of Beta which is Open Beta as well as the Early Access for Pre Orders has been announced in Todays Live Letter from the Producer.

Phase 4 Open Beta will be from August 17 - 19.

Early Access will be from August 24 - 26.

Offical Launch August 27.

So There appears to be some nasty evasive bug on the site that on occasion will not let you view new threads but instead downloads a file called "Download".

To fix this TEMP follow these Steps.

1. Click the "Mark all Forums Read" Button on the Forum Sub-Menu.

FFXIV:ARR will be avalible on PC and PS3 with cross platform play. It is a Fantasy MMO based off the Final Fantasy Universe. Orignally FF14 was released in 2010, but due to poor feedback from everyone, Square Enix decided to close the game and start again with a new staff, working from the ground up the make a better FF14.

To lead into this new game, they ended the orignal FF14 with an event that destroyed the world by Bahamut. Moments before the region is destroyed, your character is sent to the future, to a time when the nations have rebuilt the areas and they can live in peace again. This was shown in this Cinematic trailer that leads into FFXIV:ARR.
